TSA Update – August 2010
The TSA is requiring that all cargo moving on passenger airplanes must be 100% screened effective August 1st, 2010
The TSA has developed a Certified Cargo Screening Program (CCSP) as a solution to help the industry reach their 100% screening mandate. This program enables freight forwarders and shippers to pre-screen cargo at approved facilities, thereby avoiding any bottlenecks at the airport.
However, once screening has occurred, the TSA requires a subsequent Chain of Custody process with documentation from the time the cargo leaves the Certified Cargo Screening Facility (CCSF) to the time the airline receives the cargo.
To update you, our Tax-Air drivers have been successfully trained in this Chain of Custody process per TSA requirements, and we are able to properly transport your pre-screened cargo to the airlines.
We will continue to monitor information from the TSA regarding this new requirement and will communicate updates as they occur.

Effective April 1, 2010 Tax-Air will apply E-billing to our customer accounts. Invoices will be generated and sent via email versus regular mail. This paperless process will replace the traditional mailed invoices

Tax-Air helps out a customer
Tax-Air Sort Division is participating in a used denim promotion with one of our retail sort customers. The used denim program will run from March 15th thru the 19th. Tax-Air will assist by picking up cartons of used denim from local stores and return them to a consolidated warehouse. The used denim is being collected and will be used to make eco-friendly housing insulation for deserving communities.
